All About Me

I am a true Utah born and raised in Orem. I am the oldest of six, three s and three boys. I love to play in the mountains, mostly hiking and relaxing. I have the most amazing batch of friends that I lean on a lot. The best part about being with them is that we laugh a lot, which I count as one of my favorite pastimes. I also am not very good at but really enjoy yoga, fishing and dancing when I get the chance. Basically I am a simple person, who really tries to enjoy life.

I would discribe my tech skill as pretty basic for any one my age. I can make my way around most basic tools in technology, but have not had a lot of practice with many of the tools. I have not explored very much outside what is expected, but I am excited to lean more about the possibilities.

I believe that technology in education is something that is becoming more and more necessary. The children that I will be teaching have been using and depending on technology their entire life. Many times they are most engaged when they are using this media in their learning. I also believe that there are things that we can do with technology that we are unable to do in a regular classroom setting. Technology often expands the classroom to reach the entire world through the internet. There are many great benefits that come from using technology in the classroom, though is should not replace the teacher. There is a balance between technology and more traditional ways of teaching so that students can lean the human interaction aspect of their development. By using both new educational technology and traditional instruction we can provide the best learning environment for our students.

My technology goals are pretty simple,I want to learn as much as possible about technology in education in order to provide the best environment for my students. I believe that my students will expect technology to be used in the learning and I want to be able to provide that for for them. I am familiar with a lot of the current technology but I would not feel comfortable teaching it to my students, that is an area that I need to improve in. I would also like to become so comfortable with the ways that technology can be used that I automatically impute it into my lessons.
